This pattern is a vector drawing of “The Venetian”, a woodblock print wallpaper, designed by William Morris, and made by many craftspeople, at their workshop in Hammersmith. The reference image can be found in “William Morris Full-Color Patterns and Designs” by William Morris, 1988, Dover Publications. I did it with pen tool and some shapes to maintain the fidelity of the line, stylize and keep the imperfections. The colorways are inspired by the source material, and oilcloths that looked back towards waxed calicos.
